The BRIDE
Crystal Elaine Glenn
Crystal grew up in East Texas with her parents and brother, and lots of family close by. Her first job was working at a snocone stand at 15. As soon as she graduated high school in her class of 66, she hightailed it to the Austin area for college, where she immediately fell in love with the city and all it had to offer. It became her home for over 18 years, the last 13 of which she spent in her cozy house on Beaver Trail — right down the street from her favorite yoga studio. In her free time, Crystal has a deep yoga practice, loves experiencing live music, creates mosaics, and thrives on soaking up warmth from the sun. She’s always looking for her next beach getaway to do some surfing! Her academic background lies in psychology, and she spent eight years working in the public school system. She left that job to open her own private practice for two years before she moved to California, and opened version 2.0 of her practice there.
The Groom
Jordan John Harband
Jordan was born in Southern California, but immediately hopped on a plane with his new parents and headed up to San Mateo, to join the better half of the state. He had an early interest in computers and technology, and remembers reconstructing his own music out of the MIDI files on his dad’s Radio Shack Tandy 1000 (state-of-the-art!). He briefly attended CSUS before heading out to the east coast for boarding school at Eaglebrook and GDA. After a brief experiment with higher education, Jordan began doing social work at a foster care institution. Eventually realizing that wouldn’t pay the bills, he attempted a CS degree before dropping out to work full time at his startup, MixMatchMusic (one of the founders is a groomsman). In between working at TripIt and Twitter, he found the time to meet the girl of his dreams at SXSW in Austin. In his free time, Jordan does lots of open source software work, and loves skiing, puppies of all ages, the beach, and a fine glass of scotch.
Crystal’s Version
I met Jordan on the last night of the SXSW Music Festival on St. Patrick’s Day 2012. He approached me during a Sleigh Bells show and asked me what time they were supposed to start. As many of my friends can attest, I am a big music head, always carrying around my highlighted copy of the music schedule (with Plans A through C picked out in the event of a sold out show). Naturally, I sharply responded by looking at my schedule and telling him what time Sleigh Bells was scheduled to go on. Jordan thanked me and went on his way. After the set was over, Jordan walked over to me and my friends. He asked if he could join us for the evening, saying his friends had other plans, and he would prefer to be in the company of cool people. The more the merrier we said! He joined us for the rest of the night and was a real gentleman – buying me a crepe and sending me home in a cab.
Jordan’s Version
It was the last night of my first SXSW – 10 days of tech, music, drinking, and delicious food trucks. I showed up to “ACL Live” for a Sleigh Bells show – but it didn’t start on time. I saw a cute girl standing nearby with a schedule in her hand – knowing full well that the show should have started precisely at 9:45, I asked her, confused, when it was supposed to start? I got my answer, and having made contact, I stepped away — but as soon as the show was over, I walked up to her and her friends, bought them drinks, and they invited me to tag along. I struggled to keep up with Crystal as she hopped from bar to show to bar, giving me a whirlwind tour of new parts of Austin. I was only content to send her home at the end of the night because I hoped I’d see her the following week when she was in SF for a conference, and I made sure she had my number.

The Proposal
2014.11.09
We’d planned this trip to stop in Austin for Crystal’s SU Homecoming weekend, and then head to Puerto Vallarta for my birthday. One night I suggested to Crystal that, unlike our normal Austin visits, we leave a day unplanned and open – we’d schedule things if we had to, but we’d try to have a nice, relaxing day to just be by ourselves in her favorite city. Before she fell asleep she asked, “are you going to propose‽” I casually denied it, (truthfully) explaining that I just wanted us to have some time to ourselves.
The next morning, I made a point of telling her that if I had planned to propose, and she’d guessed it, I’d just cancel my plans — so she best not be guessing at things in the future. She apologized, and seemed pretty sure she’d blown it.
We were staying that night at the Hotel San Jose, Crystal’s favorite Austin hangout. Her yoga teacher Dean was only free on Sunday, so he came by the hotel for drinks, where he talked about love and happiness (as he often does) and told us about how he had just recently officiated a wedding. After he left, Crystal and I took a walk around the pretty Hotel San Jose grounds, and luckily found a secluded bench where we sat, talked, and cuddled. Finally I managed to say something sappy, I got down on one knee, and I popped the question — thankfully, she said yes!

BRIDEMAIDS
Margaret Duncan
Matron of Honor (College Roomie)
Margaret was one of my first roommates while going to SU (so you know we got into a lot of trouble together!). Margaret is also from the area where I grew up, so we have a lot in common and became fast friends. Margaret loves to drive, is crazy intelligent (graduated High School and college one year early), and full of surprises. Now, she lives in California with her husband, two boys, and two dogs.
Jessica Carmichael
Bridesmaid (The Fashionista)
It’s a cute story how Jessica and I met: Jessica drove a red Miata, and I noticed she took the same freeway exit after our summer economics course. One day in class, I asked her if she wanted to carpool, and she said sure. We’ve been besties ever since! With a degree in fashion design, Jessica is my go-to girl for all things girlie. I keep telling her to open her own personal shopping business, because she is just that good!
Samantha Bourassa
Bridesmaid (Maternal Cousin)
I’ve known Samantha since she was my adorable little baby cousin. Now Sam’s all grown up, working as a History teacher and cheerleading coach at a public high school in San Antonio, Texas. I’m very proud of her, and am very excited that we’ve been able to hang out more often!
Megan Bourassa
Bridesmaid (Maternal Cousin)
Megan is attending her first year of college at UT in Austin. Hook ‘em Horns! It’s exciting to see her pumped about Austin and hearing about her college adventures. Megan’s a twin (fraternal), eats vegetarian, draws phenomenally, and is super smart. Can’t wait to see what she gets into after undergrad.
Angela Jimenez
Bridesmaid (Paternal Cousin)
I have many fond memories of spending time with Angela during high school. In seventh grade, my family moved to a different city, and I was the new kid at school. Angela was there to help me fit in and make friends. We spent many hot afternoons laying out at her pool! Now, Angela lives in Lubbock, Texas with her husband and three children, all while working as a full-time realtor. She’s got her hands full!
Anni Kelley-Day
Bridesmaid (My first Cali bestie)
Anni and I met at a professional networking event, and we hit it off immediately! While we haven’t known each other very long, she is definitely bestie-worthy! Anni also works in the mental health field and has been very supportive of me building my private practice in the Bay Area. I’m so glad she came to my event — she’s made my transition to California much easier and more personal.

GROOMSMEN
Ryan Seiff
Best Man
Ah, Ryan. Ryan’s gotten me through some of my worst experiences, and been responsible for often driving me out of my comfort zone, whether it ended up being a wise or a foolish decision 🙂 We lived together for years, until I had to give him up so he could move in with his eventual wife — I’m sure I’ll get over it one day. Ryan and I have grown into the men we’ve become together and I couldn’t ask for a better Best Man.
Travis De Hope
Groomsman (Brother-in-law)
Travis has been married to my sister for over two years, but they’ve been together for a decade. He knows how to enjoy life, and he makes sure everyone around him is enjoying it too. Since long ago, he treated my sister wonderfully, fit easily into my family, and treated me like a part of his. Travis is the brother I never had, and I’m thrilled he’ll be a part of our wedding.
David Klein
Groomsman
David and I have been friends since 7th grade when I routinely beat him at video games like Marathon and Warcraft. We know more about each other than we probably should and we have too many inside jokes to remember, but a lot of them revolve around South Park. David’s one of my best friends, always considerate and reliable.
Charles Feinn
Groomsman
I’ve known Charles since the first grade. We attended Hebrew school and part of middle and high school together, and drifted apart as people do. However, we met back up in 2006 and founded a startup company together. We’ve spent countless hours together (along with our cofounders) debating the finer points of user experience, music, and technology, and gotten to know each other better while sharing the ups and downs of our company’s journey.
Matt Macoul
Groomsman
Matt and I went to boarding school together for high school, and lived in the same dorm for 3 years. We’ve bonded over many years of playing Halo on our Xboxes, and though it might have looked like we were just playing video games, we’ve gotten to know each other incredibly well through our many long conversations. Matt’s now in medical school, so I’ll have to start coming up with some good Doctor jokes.
FLOWER GIRLS
Ryleigh Glenn
Flower Girl (Bride's Niece)
No wedding of Crystal and Jordan‘s would be complete without Crystal’s nieces, Ryleigh and Raelynn. Ryleigh is Crystal’s oldest niece and newest pen pal. She’s in second grade and reading at a higher level than most of her classmates. She placed second in UIL Storytelling. Ryleigh loves gymnastics and is an aspiring artist. She’s been plugged in since she was four years old, when she got her first iPad from Santa. Now, you’ll find Ryleigh pinning her favorite kitten pictures and showing off her gymnastic moves. Jordan hopes one day she may turn to a career in software engineering.
Railynn Glenn
Flower Girl (Bride's Niece)
Railynn is Ryleigh’s younger sister. She’s four years old and wildly imaginative (you’ve been warned: don’t believe everything she says). Railynn loves running fast! She plays soccer and never gets tired of chasing after the ball. Our Facetime calls with Railynn are always so much fun and a bit jumbly with Railynn running, phone in hand, showing us all her toys. Both girls welcomed Jordan into the family from the very first time they met him.
